6. Three Twisted Branches of Love

THE THREE TWISTED BRANCHES OF LOVE

The cold winds are blowing.

I see the slowing of passages coming past me, I see

And I, now, I’m knowing the times now are ended

The times were intended to be, for me.

And we lived in a happiness built out of love

The truth and the faith that we had

Now lie in the path of the dead.

And I’ll wait with the beautiful sight of the three twisted branches of love:

My love, I will see you coming to me

I will need you standing by me

I will love you; will you love me - will you stay?

Is love now ending?

Living again in the way that  we had done before, once more

And I’m not forgetting the tides of vacation that now all are facing the shore, we saw.

And I see wondrous things high above

The zephyrs are waiting to come

I look at my life on my own

And I’ll wait with the beautiful sight…..

Follow me onwards.

On to the place where the lily steps down to the swan,

I’ve gone.

The summer has ended.

Treasure the fortnight, remember the things we had done were not wrong

And times past remembered today as they were

The love I had given to her hopes for the passing of years

And I’ll wait with the beautiful sight…
