Don’t wait forever,

Don’t try to get round to  it.

So much aspiration, so many hopes and challenges

And all that’s left are sadder songs to sing.

 

If only I had started skiing earlier.

If only I had tried to keep much fitter.

If only I had learnt to live my life.

If only I’d made better job decisions.

If only I had travelled far and wide

If only I’d loved you as much as I should do;

Then there comes a time when you say hold on a while

You're acting old before your very eyes

You find that you now do  the things your parents do.

It’s scary, so it’s time to change your life.

If only I had never started golf

If only I’d not owned a pair of slippers.

If only I had learnt to live my life.

If only I had kept a good deal slimmer.

If only I had found some time for me

Some of us have shocks, some of us have illness,

Some of us are jolted into life.

We find out that our time is hanging on a line

And we never know until it is too late.

So now I plan to take up more activities.

So now I plan to meet up with new friends

So now I plan to play and sing my songs again.

So now I plan the renaissance of my life

So now I plan to find the time for others.

So now I plan more creativity

So now I will love you the way that I should do.

So now I plan the renaissance of my life.

 

If only I had had the nerves to do things.

If only I had thought I had the time

If only I loved you as much as I should do

Then I would have learnt the way to live my life.
