I fell in love in a dream I had last night

With  a girl who was sad and was lonely

She’d sit in heights of her own domain

And cry in the darkness that she’d never love again

 

I held her closely hoping she was mine

And the gentleness of silence was broken

She would smile at the mention of her name

And love me in nights that I want to live again

 

I felt the girl was crying

Yet I knew that she was mine

Others would stand around and watch us

We were living as they died

But when I awoke it was broken

I would lie there sleeping on my own

Call in the darkness that is leaving me alone

 

And some day another girl will come to me

She will tell me of secrets she’d spoken

I will love her as one I loved before

But the dreams that I knew were translucent.
